iPad and tablets
An iPad eSIM, so you stop searching for Wi-Fi
On an iPad with cellular, an eSIM works just as it does on a phone. Install it before you go, then use maps, streaming and email on the tablet anywhere the network reaches.

Cellular models only
A travel eSIM needs an iPad or tablet with a cellular modem. Models that are Wi-Fi only cannot use one.
Installs like on a phone
Open the eSIM link directly on the iPad, or scan the QR code using it.
Separate from your phone
The tablet has data of its own, so watching a film on the flight home leaves your phone's plan alone.
Three small steps, then you are off
- 1
Choose a destination
Look up a country or a region. Prices appear in your own currency.
- 2
Install it at home
Scan the QR code before you leave. Nothing to swap, no SIM tray.
- 3
Switch on when you land
Turn the eSIM on after landing and you are online. Your usual number stays in the phone for calls and messages.
Good to know
- Can I use a travel eSIM on an iPad?
- Yes, on iPads with cellular (Wi-Fi + Cellular). Wi-Fi-only iPads lack a modem, so no eSIM will work on them.
- How can I check my iPad supports eSIM?
- Look in Settings. If Cellular Data or Mobile Data appears, the iPad has a cellular modem, and every recent cellular iPad supports eSIM.
- What about Android tablets?
- Yes, if the tablet has a cellular modem and supports eSIM. A lot of Android tablets are Wi-Fi only, so check your model before buying.
