No counter, no forms
Since February 2026, a local SIM takes ID, registration in person and, for foreigners, proof of legal stay. You set up the eSIM at home.
Coming by ferry
At sea, switch mobile data off to stay off the ship's satellite network, then move to the eSIM in Oran, Algiers or Béjaïa.
Keep your own number
Calls, texts and bank codes still arrive on your European line.
Three small steps, then you are off
- 1
Choose a destination
Look up a country or a region. Prices appear in your own currency.
- 2
Install it at home
Scan the QR code before you leave. Nothing to swap, no SIM tray.
- 3
Switch on when you land
Turn the eSIM on after landing and you are online. Your usual number stays in the phone for calls and messages.
Good to know
- What networks does the Algeria eSIM connect to?
- Mobilis, and Ooredoo with 5G.
- Must I register an Algerian SIM in person?
- Yes. A February 2026 decision by ARPCE, the regulator, requires the buyer to be present with official ID, and foreigners to be legally in the country.
- Will my European phone plan work in Algeria?
- Algeria is outside EU roaming, so you pay your operator's international rates. Look for its Algeria pass, or use an eSIM.
