Ready when you land
Set it up at home, arrive in Beijing or Shanghai, and use Maps, WhatsApp and Gmail the way you always do.
Mobile payments
Link your card to Alipay or WeChat Pay before the flight. Your regular number stays on the phone, so verification texts still reach you.
Top up on your eSIM page
Staying longer? Add data to the same eSIM.
Three small steps, then you are off
- 1
Choose a destination
Look up a country or a region. Prices appear in your own currency.
- 2
Install it at home
Scan the QR code before you leave. Nothing to swap, no SIM tray.
- 3
Switch on when you land
Turn the eSIM on after landing and you are online. Your usual number stays in the phone for calls and messages.
Good to know
- Will I need a VPN in China with this eSIM?
- No. On the eSIM's mobile data, Google, WhatsApp, Instagram and YouTube work, because the data exits through Hong Kong. Hotel Wi-Fi blocks them again.
- Can I use ChatGPT in China on a travel eSIM?
- Not on ours. Our data exits in Hong Kong, and OpenAI does not serve Hong Kong.
- What network does the eSIM connect to in China?
- China Mobile, which is the biggest operator in the country.
